Olivet Gospel Choir Fall Concert
Olivet’s Gospel Choir performing here on Fri, Nov. 17th
The University of Olivet Gospel Choir will be in concert in our sanctuary on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. Under the direction of Kwamise Taylor and accompanied by James L. Newby IV, the choir is made up of both music majors and non-music majors from Olivet. Two of our church’s favorite Olivet students sing in the ensemble: Ellie McIntosh and Landen Cooley!
The concert will feature music in the gospel and spiritual genres, indigenous to African American culture, and will include a liturgical dance presentation. We invite you to join us in a celebration of song with music from composer/arranger Eurydice V. Osterman, Brandon Waddles, and Daniel Cason II along with soul-stirring, exuberant music of gospel greats Kurt Carr, Larry Trotter, and Timothy Wright—just to name a few! It promises to be an uplifting event to usher in the season of Thanksgiving!
