This highly rated film (100% critics review on Rotten Tomatoes!) follows members of Africatown, a small community in Alabama, as they share their personal stories and community history as descendants of the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to illegally transport human beings as cargo from Africa to America.  The ship docked in Mobile, before getting sunk to hide its violation of the 1808 ban on slave-trading.  It remained a centuries-old open secret that was remarkably confirmed during the filming of the documentary by a team of marine archeologists.
