Happy Wednesday Everyone,

We have a big weekend coming up. The Commons Ribbon Cutting ceremony is finally here.
Ribbon Cutting will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Join us and bring friends.

There will be a pulled pork meal (smoked for many hours by Matt Slot) for $8 plus water for $1 and cookies for $1.

Music will be provided by the Michigan Mafia String Band.

Bring a lawn chair and spend some time enjoying the results of all this hard work.

This week’s sermon will be provided by Curt Scott.

Remember next week will be Pastor Curt’s first Sunday. Please join us in giving him a big welcome.
If you signed up to bring lemon meringue pies or cookies, etc. thank you. If you’re not sure or you would like to sign up still please reply to this email.

The deadline for tickets for the Michigan Princess Murder Mystery event is Sept. 15. Please see Ron Field for more information. The menu looks yummy. And who doesn’t love solving a mystery?

Katherine J has asked for prayers for her brother Van L. He is in critical condition with meningitis.

As we move into fall don’t forget you have the opportunity to teach a Sunday School class. There is plenty of support if you want it or you can create your own lesson with a book and project. Some folks use their special talents to teach the kids something new. See Judy Johnson if you would like to share your talents.

Remember the Michigan Conference Fall Meeting will be here on Oct. 12 and 13.
You can register online to attend the conference. If you would like to volunteer to help out please see Judi Cates.

If you have updates/events/etc. that you would like to have included in the email please let me know.

See you soon,

Last Weeks:

Good News we received a $1000 grant from the Charlotte Generosity Fund. This money will be used for the next phase of the Commons project-a children’s garden which will be called Express Yourself. We will continue planning for this over the winter with the goal to begin building in the spring. As part of this grant we had to designate a partner organization. We are working with Windwalker and they will help us with the artistic design of the space. It just keeps growing!!
If you have not seen the Labyrinth be sure to stop by and take a meditative walk. Ramona registered us on the Worldwide Labyrinth Locator. We have also gotten positive feedback from Charlotte Rising and the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Commons will be Sept. 8 at 4:00 p.m. Let’s have a great big crowd. There will be a pulled pork dinner ($10 with water and cookies) and live music. Bring your friends and come on down.
We need a few more volunteers for set-up, serving food, and clean up. There is a sign-up sheet on the credenza.
