in Concert

Wednesday, June 12th, 7pm

The Senior Choir of the Charlotte Congregational Church would love you to see its annual year-end concert performed Wednesday, June 12th at 7:00 PM in the church sanctuary. It is now available on FB at our video page: SUMMER CONCERT The community is invited to enjoy this free hour-long concert.

“We performed some of our favorite anthems from throughout the church year, including Christmas and Easter,” says Ramona Kime, Director of Music. “Our concert was a celebration of music and the beginning of summer!”

There are a variety of styles of music, from the spiritual “Battle of Jericho” to the beautiful “In Remembrance” and “The Meditations of My Heart”. “Lord, Can You Hear Us Praying?” hints of Gospel music and incorporates “Kum Ba Yah” throughout. The choir will also be performing several beautiful and very moving pieces from their Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter repertoire, including a fun, upbeat arrangement of “Go Tell It on the Mountain”. In addition to the choir anthems, Ramona Kime also performed several pieces on the piano and the organ, including a jazz version of the spiritual “Poor Wayfaring Stranger”.

The concert was free and open to the public. The church is located at 106 S. Bostwick in Charlotte, at the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Bostwick. For more information, call the church office at (517) 543-1310 or email events@ucccharlotte.org.
