Congregational Church to host free lunch and movie Nov. 3rd

The Charlotte Congregational Church will be hosting a free lunch and family-friendly movie on Sunday, Nov. 3rd. This animated film tells the story of a young boy who dreams of becoming an accomplished musician, despite his family’s generations-old ban on music. Desperate to prove his talent, the young boy finds himself in the stunning and colorful land of his ancestors, the Land of the Dead. (Due to licensing restrictions we cannot announce the title.)

This film takes place during the Mexican holiday “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead), observed in Mexico between Oct. 31st and Nov. 2nd. This is a time of prayer and remembrance of friends and family members who have died. Unlike Halloween, however, the festivities are not spooky but rather are a joyous, lively celebration where deceased individuals can reunite with their friends and family.

The movie will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3rd at noon in the Annex of the Charlotte Congregational Church, 106 S. Bostwick. Everyone is welcome, and the event is free! For more information, including the title, call the church office at (517) 543-1310, email, or follow us on Facebook to get information about all of our events!
