Join with a great group of textile activists at 9 am on the first and third Saturday morning of each month. We are always in need of shawls and recipients.
We have an active and talented group who knit, crochet and quilt shawls or lap blankets for people whom our congregation is praying for. The shawl is a tangible reminder of the Love of God and the support of our congregation. Most textile crafting occurs in homes, but twice a month, on the first and third Saturday, many of our crafters gather for fellowship, encouragement and organizational planning. Finished shawls are consecrated in a worship service and given to the person as a tangible sign of our love & care for them. This is part of a nationwide movement that we adapted at our church in 2005.
If you have someone for which you would like to request a shawl, request cards are located in the crafting area of the Lounge or at the pink mailbox near the church mailboxes in the hallway. If you would be interested in helping with this great ministry, meet with us on the first and third Saturdays of each month to get started. Yarn donations are also accepted.
