Music Notes

Ramona Kime, Director of Music

‘Tis the season for music, and we have two big events that showcase our choirs during this holiday season.

On Saturday, Dec. 8th, our Senior Choir will be performing on the Community Band’s Holiday Concert at the CPAC (Charlotte Performing Arts Center). We have performed on their holiday concert twice before, and they like us so much that they keep asking us back! This year we will be singing several of our own Christmas anthems, and they have asked to lead a holiday sing-along at the end of the concert. The performance is at 7 PM, and admission is free. Bring your friends and enjoy this annual holiday musical treat.

At church, the Senior Choir will be participating in Lessons & Carols during the 10 AM service on Sunday, Dec. 16th. The traditional Lessons & Carols includes music alternating with “lessons” from scripture. This year, instead of scripture, we will be reading thought-provoking Advent and Christmas poems, alternating with the choir pieces. This year we are also excited to include Pastor Curt’s photography and art work to add a beautiful visual impact as well.

We hope that you’ll be able to join us for both performances and that the beauty of the music will enhance the joy of the season for you. May you have a special and meaningful Christmas, filled with family and friends and lots of music!
