Join us June 3rd for our next . . . .
Join us as we watch an inspirational film about Michael Oher, an offensive lineman who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. As a homeless black teen, Michael had drifted in and out of the school system for years. Then a wealthy white couple took him in and eventually became Michael’s legal guardians, transforming both his life and theirs.
Michael’s tremendous size and protective instincts made him a formidable force on the gridiron, and with help from his new family and devoted tutor, he realized his potential as a student and football player. He became one of the most highly coveted prospects in college football, and then finally became a first-round pick of the Ravens.
This is a powerful, inspirational, and uplifting story about opening one’s home and heart to someone who needs help and to one who may not “look like us.” It reminds us that our “family” doesn’t have to be blood related. When we help others, we open ourselves up to be transformed and to find spiritual and emotional growth in the most unusual places. This movie will have you cheering with its mix of gridiron action and heartwarming emotion.
This event is free an open to the public!
