Holy Communion

Holy CommunionAt First Congregational Church, we receive Holy Communion occasionally, including important days in the church calendar.

We alternate in worship between receiving Communion by intinction, an ancient practice of coming forward, taking the bread and dipping it in the cup and receiving both elements together, and passing trays with individual pieces of bread and individual cups through the pews. Read more…

Weddings

banner-wedding-ringThe essence of marriage is a covenanted commitment that has its foundation in the faithfulness of God’s love.  The marriage ceremony is the glad occasion on which two people unite in the mutual exchange of covenant promises.  The pastor acts as an official representative of the church and gives the marriage the church’s blessing.
