The annual holiday tradition Festival of Trees happened this year Nov 24 5-9pm, Nov 25 2-5pm. The festival is a display of themed Christmas trees that are sold silent auction style. Visitors wander through the forest of trees with themes as varied as the imaginations of their creators. Past themes have included the more traditional Santas and snowmen as well as more unusual trees decorated with Legos, cookie cutters, hand blown eggs, and blue bottles. Every year the Across the Square Quilters create an amazing tree covered in handmade items. It is always a fan favorite.
Proceeds from the festival this year will benefit Eaton Clothing and Furniture Center. We are encouraging anyone who would like to support this organization to donate a tree. Businesses, service clubs, and individuals are welcome to participate. We would be happy to come and speak to service clubs and provide additional information and ideas to any individual or group thinking of joining the fun.
In addition to bidding on the trees, visitors are encouraged to vote for favorite trees in a variety of categories. We will have our children’s make and take ornament again this year as well as our photo booth.
Live music will set the mood during the Festival and as always we will have scrumptious homemade treats.
The Festival of Trees will take place Friday, November 24 from 5 – 9 pm and Saturday, November 25 from 2 – 5 pm at First Congregational Church, 106 S. Bostwick, Charlotte.
As always admission is free and all ages are welcome.
Join us for a wonderful holiday tradition and help support an important community organization.
