It began as The Mitten Tree. Outreach Board decided they wished to keep the giving tree concept growing. October we will be collecting towels and linens. November will be offerings from the Brown Bags — food and grocery items and White Bags — toiletries and health items.
December we will once again collect mittens, scarves, hats and winter paraphernalia for our community. Don’t forget winter Coat Drive. Your monetary donations toward this will allow us to purchase coats at quantity discount for people less fortunate. Two families will be adopted from Housing Services next month, white gifts of toiletries will be collected Dec 17, 2017 and a mitten tree will be up all month for donations of hats, mittens, scarves, and socks and underwear have been added to the list of needs this year. The annual holiday tradition Festival of Trees is just around the corner. The festival is a display of themed Christmas trees that are sold silent auction style.
Proceeds from the festival this year will benefit Eaton Clothing and Furniture Center. We are encouraging anyone who would like to support this organization to donate a tree. Businesses, service clubs, and individuals are welcome to participate. Continue reading
